On 28th April 2023, Ndejje University's Faculty of Engineering and Survey launched the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering student branch at the University's Main Campus in Luweero conducted under the theme " Application and Diversification of Academic Achievements into Real Life."
Research and Innovation being a key tool for the competence of every Institution of Higher Learning, the Luweero based University has opened the Institution of Electrical and Engineering project aiming at bringing together Engineers to share experience, build and promote research and Innovation which can improve the Social standards of the community. The CEO of Electricity Regulatory Authority who was also the Chief Guest Eng. Zaria Tibalwa Waako, encouraged female gender to embrace Engineering course as a career saying if something goes wrong in that field, women suffers most.
Eng. Waako also expressed her commitment to support students at which ever cost in order to achieve success in their Engineering journey.
Lecturers on the other hand commended the project saying it is one way of linking students to an international community and hence play a crucial role in nurturing students through different aspects of life.
In attendance were among others the Vice Chancellor Rev. Canon Professor Banja, the Deputy Vice Chancellor - Dr. Frederick Kakembo, Academic Registrar - Dr. Mary Wanda Mutyaba, the Faculty Dean of Science and Computing - Dr. Robert Ssetekera, and Guild representatives.
