The duo from Greece on a one month visit to Uganda visited Ndejje University with numerous objectives. Guided by Fr. Antonios from Wobulenzi and Roland a student at Ndejje University the pair presented a series of important opportunities for the University, staff, students, and other university stake holders.
Konstantinos and Marilena presented to the University staff, alumni, and students the many opportunities that lie in the future. The opportunities presented include scholarship, student and staff exchange program, networking, inter-university collaborations and partnerships, and shared academic programmes, among others. They introduced the Erasmus Mundus programme which aims to enhance the quality of higher education and promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through mobility and academic cooperation. The two have benefited from this and having been introduced to Africa it is a virgin recently opportunity that Ndejje University staff and students can exploit.
In Greece about five Universities have shown interest to collaborate with Ndejje in the areas of Agriculture, Engineering, Business, Sports and Information Technology. This is as a result of the duo visiting Ndejje University and presenting the University’s expression of interest to the five Universities.
“Why export unskilled labour yet there is a chance for Education” said Fr. Antonios and this is the reason why he introduced Konstantinos and Marilena to Ndejje University.
